Ed Walsh
At the age of 55 I retired from thirty-odd years in the computer industry. I studied in NCAD for four years, graduating in 2006 with a BA degree in Ceramics Design. I moved to Longford and set up my studio, from where I currently produce a wide range of objects using a variety of ceramic techniques. This allows me to engage intimately with the diverse ceramic processes.
I delight in taking fresh clay, working it with my hands, firing it, then hopefully removing beautiful items from the kiln. I relish in producing artefacts that can provide a tactile response to the touch of a persons hand, or pieces which can be enjoyed visually, or just something that someone can place in their home and smile when they look at it.
