Without Turn I

Author: Rachel Grimes

A mixture of thoughts and feelings, inspired by favourite words and real life experiences in the heart of North Westmeath

Drowning in a life where the Three Sisters flow,
I sought freedom from the maternal glare.
Never would she have let me go
so I ran, cloaked by the nightshade.
Remorse etches my face, letter falling from my fingertips.
Standing broken and haunting,
her ghost mocks me.
Guilt poisons my soul.
